Archetype Consulting is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to be part of our growing team to help us continue our success serving Fortune 500 companies with innovative technology solutions.  We are seeking a results-driven, self-directed, and creative individual to implement business development efforts across multiple practices. Specific Responsibilities:

As our Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role in the growth of Archetype.  You will assist our Practice Leaders with growing our client base and achieving client satisfaction. You will be leading the business development function for the entire organization, to include all industry practices and technology practices.  In addition, the Business Development Manager will help deliver our strategic message to the marketplace.  You will work closely with our Director of Marketing to ensure that there is a clear and consistent message across all targeted client segments and marketing channels. Additional activities for the Business Development Manager include assisting in proposal preparation and any other required publications.

In addition, the Business Development Manager will participate in firm-building initiatives and activities that contribute to the growth of Archetype Consulting and our people.  We are not looking for just anyone. We are looking for individuals who have demonstrated the ability to deliver, who can collaborate and work in a team, and who enjoy learning and solving challenging problems.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate with the CEO and Practice Leads to develop and implement an annual Business Development strategy to support business growth in targeted industries and service lines of business.
  • Identify, qualify, develop, and advance client opportunities through a meticulously planned and executed lead generation effort.
  • Support Practice Leaders with business development strategies and coordinate with the Director of Marketing in the development of marketing tools including production of collateral and promotional materials, and use of branded templates.
  • Ensure an effective sales process through rigorous qualification and the gathering of requirements that will result in customized project proposals.
  • Manage client expectations throughout the sales cycle and close process.                  
  • Assist and collaborate in Archetype’s conference, trade show, and events.
  • Deliver against agreed upon sales targets, meeting both sales and financial goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners (e.g. Oracle, OneStream, Tableau) to jointly market and sell to mutual customers, share leads, and develop solutions.
  • Commitment to stay updated on industry trends and technical advancements across multiple business sectors
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports metrics to evaluate performance of business development efforts.  Works with management to adjust the business development strategy to achieve Archetypes’ sales objectives within budget.
  • Participate in project planning and delivery action items as requested by the Senior Leadership.
  • Works within deadlines, schedules, and multiple competing priorities to consistently deliver high-quality work product.


  • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, English, Business, or STEM related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in business development or solution sales.
  • Experience in high technology and/or service industries.
  • Display knowledge in strategic and consultative sales.
  • Must have demonstrated prior experience working on a cross-functional team. Please include examples.
  • Demonstrated success with Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and/or Business Intelligence (BI) preferably with multiple platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States and pass a background check.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment to manage competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and deliver high quality materials.
  • Must have a “can do” attitude and have the ability to remain professional in high pressure situations.
