Job Description:

Archetype Consulting is currently looking for a Systems Administrator to be part of our growing team to help us continue our success serving Fortune 500 companies with innovative technology solutions.  We are seeking a results-driven, self-directed, and creative individual to manage our IT systems across multiple practices. Specific Responsibilities:

As our Systems Administrator, you will be managing all of Archetype’s internal IT assets and assist with growing Archetype’s business and achieving client satisfaction. You will be managing all network assets for the entire organization, to include all industry practices and technology practices.  In addition, the Systems Administrator will help develop and deliver our infrastructure strategy.  Additional activities for the Systems Administrator include security management and compliance, technology procurement, management of cloud resources, and general troubleshooting.

In addition, the Systems Administrator will participate in firm-building initiatives and activities that contribute to the growth of Archetype Consulting and our people.  We are not looking for just anyone. We are looking for individuals who have demonstrated the ability to deliver, who can collaborate and work in a team, and who enjoy learning and solving challenging problems.

 

Responsibilities Include:

Manage internal IT assets including:

  • Network: firewall, router, wireless access points, VPN
  • Internal VMs: 3-4 VirtualBox development/test servers
  • Procurement, Set-up & Inventory: laptops, monitors, keyboard/mice, A/V equipment
  • General Troubleshooting: repair and/or manage coordination with warranty provider
  • Security: Maintain, expand, and implement existing System Security Plan

Manage cloud-based applications & infrastructure:

  • AWS: EC2, VPC, S3; uptime, backups, general troubleshooting
  • Digital Ocean: website and application hosting
  • Office365: AzureAD, new account creation, license management, password reset, SharePoint development
  • Data requests: occasional data requests from cloud-hosted Oracle or MySQL databases
  • Other Cloud Services: PipeDrive, Confluence, Tenrox, Small Improvements, Bonus.ly, Google Cloud Platform, QuickBooks

Major initiatives:

  • Migration of some AWS assets (Drupal, Oracle Database) to a Digital Ocean instance (Drupal, MySQL)
  • Security compliance review and best practice recommendations
  • Internal network improvements, including wireless coverage improvements, MAC address filtering
  • New time & billing + expense tracking system, including QuickBooks integration
  • Knowledge management overhaul (SharePoint/Confluence)

Works within project deadlines, schedules, and multiple competing priorities to consistently deliver high-quality work product.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex concepts & methodologies
  • Polished presentation; Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business etiquette
  • 5-10 years of experience in System Administration or Enterprise Infrastructure role.
  • Experience with Linux/Bash; Windows Administration; Basic Networking; SQL
  • Experience in, or familiarity with, high technology and/or service industries strongly desired.
  • Must have demonstrated prior experience working on a cross-functional team. Will be asked to provide examples.
  • Must be able to work independently, demonstrating strong decision-making skills, vision and initiative.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States and pass a background check.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment to manage competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and deliver high quality materials.
  • Must have a “can do” attitude, and remain professional in high pressure situations.
