Specific Responsibilities:

As a Business Analyst you will be involved in the all phases of a project- from requirements gathering, assisting in determining project scope, solution implementation, testing/validation, user training and acceptance, to post-deployment activities including reporting and operations.  He/she will also assist with understanding the business model and being able to translate the technical understanding to business impact. Additional activities for the Business Analyst include troubleshooting, providing daily status updates, and fulfilling various ad-hoc project-related requests from the client.

In addition to client work, the Business Analyst will participate in firm-building initiatives and activities that contribute to the growth of Archetype Consulting and our people.  We are not looking for just anyone. Specific Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and participate in requirements sessions with key business stakeholders to gather and document the client’s needs and objectives.
  • Distill essential core requirements that directly align with the business needs to implement the most optimal solution.
  • Liaison between Functional Business Team and Technical Team
  • Progressively elaborate the stated requirements that accurately define the business need within the specified solution scope.
  • Collaborates with developers to determine possible solutions and maximize value.
  • Documents business, task, and workflow processes using methods including business process maps with narratives, use cases, scenarios, design diagrams, and data flow charts, to ensure the solution is designed to the stated business problem.
  • Ability to create technical documentation (including architectural design, process maps, test scripts, and use case scenarios) to be used as deliverables for the client.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the functional business users and IT staff to ensure there is a shared understanding of requirements.
  • Serves as a resource to the Program Manager throughout each phase of the project life cycle to help clarify requirements and design, testing, and acceptance specifications.
  • Works within project deadlines, schedules, and multiple competing priorities to consistently deliver high-quality work product.


Ideal Candidate Sketch:

  • Minimum BA/BS Degree and 2+ years of experience performing business analysis and requirements capture. Applicants with less than 2 years’ experience will not be considered.
  • Strong communication skills, able to produce clear definitions and documentation of Project scope and requirements.
  • English Fluency required in both written and oral communication.
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Effective facilitation skills with ability to build rapport with diverse teams.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high pressure environment to manage competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and deliver high quality materials.
  • Must have a “can do” attitude and have the ability to remain professional in high pressure situations.
  • Experience with project management tools such as MS Project and Taiga is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and other query tools is a plus.
