As an FDM Architect you will have a strong background and experience leading, designing, and delivering the data integration component of an overall EPM/BI solution.  You will be involved in all phases of a project, including requirements gathering and documentation, technology evaluation, solution design and implementation, testing and validation, and user training and acceptance. The FDM Architect will assist and guide the project team while assisting with hands on tasks.  We are not looking for just anyone; we are looking for individuals who have demonstrated the ability to deliver, who can collaborate and work in a team, and who enjoy learning and solving challenging problems.  The FDM Architect will be responsible for the following:


Desired Skills & Experience:

The FDM Architect will focus on leading and participating in all phases of Oracle Hyperion EPM implementations.  This will include: requirements gathering and documentation, design, technology evaluation, development and configuration, testing and validation, and user training and acceptance. 

Additionally he/she will be responsible for designing and implementing: integrations with EPM and non-EPM systems, adapter updates to support drill-back requirements, plus additional configurations; using best practices of the aforementioned models, and ensuring quality across the entire project team, ensuring data integrity, while balancing the project scope/timeline. 

He/she will provide subject/technical expertise, estimating work effort and resources, and current state process analysis.  The FDM Architect will develop solution recommendations to close performance gaps.


Responsibilities include:

  • The position will require client facing skills with the ability to work with all levels of business and IT
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients as well as strategic and emerging vendors
  • Communicate with project stakeholders and clients, both gathering and disseminating information
  • Project lead capacity for existing/ongoing projects
  • Design technical solutions for clients as part of a larger highly skilled team in a timely and effective manner, develop project milestones and identify key deliverables
  • Assist in the development of Archetype service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates
  • Installing and configuring software & hardware, implementing backup & recovery procedures, as well as conducting performance-tuning tests
  • Lead process improvement and innovation to the Professional Services methodology and services
  • Act as sales/engineering support for newly identified opportunities
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various user groups - excellent written and oral communication skills, including being able to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resource staff
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the Archetype solutions portfolio and specific practice area offerings
  • Maintain technical certifications as required based on organizational needs, competency and strategic/emerging partnerships
  • Hands-on resource who can perform development activities as well as learn new technologies
  • Participate in speaking engagements and events that promote the Archetype brand
  • Deliver training sessions to peers, clients, and the sales organization as necessary
  • Travel required

Ideal Candidate Sketch:

  • Bachelor degree required in Computer Science or related field, Masters preferred
  • Strong knowledge of all FDM concepts
  • 4-8 years of consulting experience
  • Experience as Technical Lead
    • Leading Requirements & Design
    • Project tracking and reporting
    • Documentation
    • Ability to function independently or with minimal oversight
    • Excellent SQL skills
    • Working knowledge of HFM, Planning and/or Essbase
    • Basic understanding of accounting/finance concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve desired business outcomes through the proposed solution
  • Ability to quickly learn complex concepts & methodologies
  • Experience training client administrators and end users
  • SQL & Jython language skills
  • Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and business etiquette
  • Polished presentation;  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Person of integrity
  • Willingness to challenge client thinking where and when appropriate
  • Experience managing and leveraging strategic partners
  • A strong appreciation for and knowledge of the enterprise sales cycle
  • Ability to write and lead the Statement of Work (SOW) effort
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and have excellent relationship management skills
  • Accepts responsibility, proactively problem-solves, and goes the extra mile to ensure deadlines are met
  • Open-minded, self-motivated and feels comfortable in a strong team-oriented environment
  • Must be eligible to legally work in the United States
  • Able and willing to travel
