Archetype Values:

Archetype was founded by two principal consultants who believed at their core that they, if committed to the right priorities, could build a highly valued, extremely competitive firm and have fun doing it.  The following list of core values reflects what was important to our founders and they continue to shape our culture and define the character of our organization today.  These are not values that change from time to time, situation-to-situation or person-to-person, these values are the soul of our Company.

Integrity – Be ethically unyielding. Let both your words and behavior be consistent, honorable and of the highest moral standards. Do the right thing, no matter what.
Personal Responsibility – Take the initiative whenever appropriate. Never put things off that should be done now. Delegate but never abdicate responsibility. Say what you mean, mean what you say. Let your word be your bond.
Work the problem, not the hours – We create value through solving key problems on behalf of our customers. Our customers ask us back only if we effectively and efficiently solve problems, both those we plan for and those we don’t plan for.
Customer Centricity – Our goal is to drive shareholder value for our clients through innovative solutions that increase efficiency and effectiveness. This is only possible though an intimate understanding of their business, their leadership and their goals.
One Team, Winning Team – Being right without being understood is fruitless. Being wrong, without listening and adapting is inexcusable. The greatest success is driven through identifying the right thing, doing it and demonstrating it to others. Our clients deserve leadership and the maturity necessary to drive consensus and get things done. Often times this requires bridge building, hatchet burying and an appetite for crow.
Be Humble – "Fullness of knowledge always and necessarily means some understanding of the depths of our ignorance, and that is always conducive to both humility and reverence.” – Robert A. Millikan

We are an Equal Opportunity employer committed to delivering the compensation and employment benefits commensurate with the caliber of people we seek.

Problem #1
Think back to your college days. No, not to the late nights of "studying", but from a more holistic perspective. If you're helping your alma mater build a data warehouse, would you know where to start?
- What would the end data warehouse look like (which fact or dimension tables would be needed)?
- What source systems would be used to populate the data warehouse?
- How would you get the information from the source systems to the data warehouse?
- How would you ensure that the data is properly and holistically captured, while maintaining quality data that leads to useful information?*
Problem #2
Let's say you have a table in your favorite RDBMS with the month populated in the rows. Would you know how to pivot the information to have the months be the column headers using SQL? Can you do this without using pre-defined pivot functions?*
Problem #3
Buzzwords and acronyms, do you know them (and not just of them)?
Attribute, Change Data Capture, Data Cleansing, Data Mart, Data Warehouse, Degenerative Dimensions, ETL, Foreign Key, INTERSECT, Junk/Garbage Dimensions, Informatica, MINUS, Multistar Schema, OBIEE, ODI, ODS, OLAP, OLTP, Primary Key, SAP BO, Slowly-Changing Dimensions, Snowflake Schema, Star Schema, Surrogate Key, Time Variant, UNION, Unique Constraint*
How did I do?
- "I know some of these words" - This is probably not the right position for you.
- "I had to look a few things up, but got all three problems" - Depending on your definition of a few, take a chance and apply. We'd love to meet you. If this isn't the right position for you, we may consider you for our BI/SQL Consultant position.
- "Is that all you got?" - This was just a warm-up, but we think you would likely be a good general skills match for this position. Apply now for some more challenges!
